The SNCF offers its customers a high speed network with TGV (Train à Grande Vitesse- High Speed Train). On 10 June 2001, the SNCF's high speed network was extended to include a new link to the mediterranean. The TGV Méditerranée had an enormous impact on French travel as the journey time from Paris to Marseille has reduced to just three hours. Europe is the continent of high speed rail.

-Eurostar is the first European high-speed train. Eurostar links Paris to London, Lille to London and Brussels to London

-Artesia was set up in 1995 to link France to Italy. There are two types of train : daytime TGV and nights trains.

-TGV France-Suitzerland links Switzerland to many destinations in France: Lausanne, Zurich, Aarau, Olten, Bern, Neuchâtel to Paris.

-Train Paris-Berlin/Hamburg links France to Germany.
