Company description

General description  :   Haute-Marne…Secrets in Champagne

A desire for authenticity
Between Champagne and Burgundy, the département of Haute-Marne reveals itself to anyone who takes the time.

History and Heritage
Haute-Marne preserves the memory of some illustrious characters: General de Gaulle in Colombey-les-Deux-Eglises, Voltaire in Cirey-sur-Blaise, Diderot in Langres…

The fortified town of Langres allows itself to be tamed by visitors who take the time. Its three kilometres of ramparts unfold their viewpoints, towers, gates and passageways. A town of art and history, Diderot's birthplace reveals sounds, smells and colours from another age as you stroll through its narrow streets.
Chaumont, seat of the local prefecture, has museums that combine ancient heritage with more recent collections. The Maison du Livre et de l’Affiche (book and poster museum) pays tribute to the graphic arts.
Other worlds, the same surprises. Haute-Marne is overflowing with them. Its heritage is diverse, its history fascinating.

Traditions and Gastronomy in Haute-Marne.
A generous natural setting preserves architectural wealth and ancient crafts. Fayl-Billot and its basketwork, Nogent and its cutlery, the Blaise valley and its beautiful cast iron, Orges and its Moulin de la Fleuristerie (floristry mill)…

Gourmets can feast on local delicacies: noble crayfish, game, poultry, truffles, foie gras, snails and cheese.
All these flavours can be accompanied by Coiffy or Montsaugeon wines or Champagne from Rizaucourt-Argentolles, or by La Choue beer freshly brewed in Vauclair.

Nature and Leisure
Silence, wide open spaces, clean air - the calming sensations of Haute-Marne. The generous wildlife is the basis for many outdoor activities and pleasures: watching cranes take flight, listening to the call of the deer, discovering wild orchids around a bend in the path… The richness and diversity of the game and fish tempt enthusiasts from far and wide.

The open-air sports on offer are worthy of these protected open spaces: the Der and Liez lakes are a location for all kinds of water sports.

Share its secrets; experience its authenticity with all five senses. Haute-Marne opens its doors and places you in its Confidence!
